Compelled to up this one after catching some sweet lawn seats for Kansas/Foriegner/Styx last night. While Styx brought their A game on their harder jams, Foreigner was the total surprise for me. They played most of what you expected but mixed it all up with clever variations and extended guitar solos. To commemorate the occasion, I am serving up the bands debut LP from 1977. A surprisingly solid outing before they went straight pop on us. Youll recognize Feels Like the First Time and Cold as Ice but the space-rocky Starrider and underrated Long, Long Way From Home are the real standouts.
