My penchant for these Houston boys lives on and remains strong with this 2011 release. I was surprised to see this album turn up as one of the most harshly criticized, although craftily penned, reviews I've read in AMG. It seems the singer was recently divorced and he clearly traverses the emotional spectrum as he pains his way through the song list; but that's no reason to discard an otherwise well-produced array of alternative rock jams. I've never minded a little fekk-off vibe in my lyrics and you get plenty of this followed-up by a what seems to be a confession of sorts toward the end. Dude must be a mess. Nonetheless, plenty of kick arse alt jams best summed up in the fine track The Chills.
