When I saw that James LaBrie released a solo album, I had to give it a spin. It is obvious that he was not happy with the path that Dream Theater had been blazing with their last few discs cuz he did not come close to following it. I didn't expect this kind of release though. He fuses in some Death Metal growls from his drummer on some tunes (say whaaaat?) and is not overly prog the remainder of the time. Dunno. His band is pretty damn good tho. Maybe a few more spins will have it growing on me but I'll file this under "interesting release" for now.
