As much as it pains me to pander to the lurkers, I have to give Dboy big props for putting The Red Paintings on our radar. Their 2013 release is absolutely a brilliant piece of alternative rock. Coming off as sort of a Serj Tankian meets Silversun Pickups, copious amounts of lush instrumentation sets the backdrop for one great tune after another. Lots of highlights but most notably Dead Children, Dead Adults, The Fall of Rome and It Is as It Was. I included the Mad World cover as a bonus because I really like it as well. I'm pretty sure it served as the backdrop to a season or series finale fairly recently. All in all, terrific record.
