The latest offering from Kamelot has put a damper on my day. It is not that it is bad but it simply doesn't grab me. Of course, I expected a disaster after Roy Khan left the band and then Tommy Karevik stepped in and won me over with Silverthorn. OK, so he sounded, and performed, a LOT like Roy, but it comforted me and it was a great album. He proved to be a natural successor when they released an almost-as-good Haven a few years later. However, this latest release is average. It has a few very good tunes and a slick video for the Phantom Divine, but it is a disc that is a disappointment due to the high bar that they have set.
