After being pleasantly surprised by the addictiveness of Red Sun Rising's 2018 release, Thread, I was excited to get my mitts on this one from 2015. Web chatter all points to Polyester Zeal being their crowning achievement. Well you know how this story ends… No doubt their sound has changed between these 2 releases but I'll have to go against the grain and state it's been for the better. Thread shows us a more traditional hard rock sound with infectious melodies while the tracks on Polyester Zeal could be any alt-metal band rounding out another lackluster set list on XM Octane. Thoroughly uninspiring with Amnesia being the only track I'll hope to revisit in my American Muscle playlist.
